Three Dishes That Are Perfect for Your Summer Corporate Event

As the person planning your company’s summer events, the biggest decision on your list is what everyone eats. Metro Catering’s Summer BBQ menu is live now through September 11, and three dishes on it are built for exactly this kind of gathering — the team celebration, the client cookout on the terrace, the all-office event before vacation season starts. Here are all three: what comes with each one, who it covers, and which kind of event it fits. By the end, you’ll know which one belongs on your order.

1. Build Your Own Burger

Build Your Own Burger is the order for the group whose preferences you can’t predict. The spread includes Beef Burgers, Turkey Burgers & Veggie Burgers on Brioche Buns, with lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles to build from, plus Roasted Caesar Potato Salad & Waffle Fries on the side and Ketchup & Metro Secret Sauce for the table. Everyone assembles their own plate, so the vegetarian on your team and the person going back for a second cheeseburger are covered by the same order. It runs $29.95 per guest with a 10-guest minimum, and it works for everything from a 12-person team event to a full-floor cookout.

2. BBQ Ribs

BBQ Ribs give the event a centerpiece. You choose the style — St Louis, Hawaiian Pineapple, Memphis dry rub, or Pasilla Chile — and all four are gluten-free, which settles one dietary question before anyone has to ask. Each order comes with Creamy Coleslaw & Soft Sweet Rolls, at $24.95 per guest with a 10-guest minimum. This is the pick for the corporate event you want to feel like an occasion: the mid-summer team celebration, the client barbecue, the Friday afternoon the whole office sticks around for.

3. Slider Bar

When the plan is mingling instead of a sit-down meal, order the Slider Bar. Guests build Beef, Turkey & Impossible Meat sliders on Brioche Buns, with Smoky Chipotle Roasted Potato Salad & Waffle Fries on the side and three sauces: Ketchup, Metro Secret Sauce & Chipotle Tahini. The Impossible Meat sliders and the Chipotle Tahini are both vegan, so plant-based guests get a full plate of their own. At $21.95 per guest with a 10-guest minimum, it’s the easiest of the three to add to a happy hour or an afternoon mixer.

Put One on the Order This Week

All three are on the Summer BBQ menu through September 11, and they order the same way: pick the dish, set the guest count, and Metro handles the rest. The Executive Presentation upgrade is available on all three if you want the food served on porcelain platters and chafing dishes, and if your building doesn’t permit open flames, there’s a flameless set-up option at checkout. Metro recommends ordering at least 24–48 hours ahead, so if your event is on the calendar for late June or July, put the order in this week. Order online at orders.metrocateringnyc.com or call (212) 268-2828.
